Technology Story
A product of propriety Fusion® Technology; a stainless steel face and body combine with the tungsten infused sole to enable Callaway Golf engineers to strategically position discretionary weight for a higher Moment of Inertia (MOI) and precise positioning of the center of gravity (CG). The OptiFit® System allows golfers to choose a Draw or Neutral CG bias to fit their individual shot shape. Also, a traditionally styled hosel was incorporated, along with a lower leading edge and new sole design, creating performance that will appeal to a wider range of players.

The Callaway FT-iZ Fairway Wood have decidedly smaller heads that allow them to cut through rough, unlike my old VFTs. Surprisingly, the X soles do help with set up. The heads give you a nice ping on center contact, but not as much "pow" as the VFTs. You can work the ball easily. They are darn good-looking clubs, too. The ball flight tends to be mid-trajectory as opposed to the high trajectory of my VFTs.

I love the looks of the club and how it sets up. My first time to the range I hit it well, but not as far as I thought, until I played my first round with it and I realized that the range markers were off. Great club, consdering the wood now.

The FT-iZ Fairway Wood feels well balanced and I feel like I just need to swing it to hit it straight. Of course a club is highly subjective, but after using my club and trying my friends TM R7, TM R9, FT-iZ Fairway Wood I still prefer mine. It just feels great.
